Joseph Longhurst and Sarah Haysman came to Canada in 1832. Joseph is descended from John Longhurst, born c1515.

This site was first created in the early 2000's with information provided by reliable sources. With a few developmental exceptions (Wauthy, Thibeau) this site peaked around 2008. Imagine what has been found out since.
A much larger web of ancestral connections that are more current and likely more accurate can be found at familysearch.org (free account) and ancestry.ca (membership). As an extension, geneanet (Europe, in particular Belgium) has become something of a source. British records have been accessed for the Squires family (I can't remember at the moment how I did it) and it could also be time to return to it for selective Longhurst and associated family records. So much has been gifted to this site from dedicated researchers that there is likely little to find and likely little hope of finding it (due to their thoroughness), but there are new things coming available online every day so it is worth a look.

These are the first Longhursts to come to Canada in this family line. Joseph and Sarah brought all their children under the management and expense of the Petworth Project. The voyage was made in 1832, aboard the Eveline, one of two ships. Hester died during the voyage and was buried at sea.
