With the marriage of Alfred Thomas Burton Longhurst and Theresa Alice Mary Burke on Thursday, Aug 11, 1950,
in the Stadacona Naval Base Chapel, Gottingen Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia,
the Longhurst family of Belleville, Ontario and the Burke family of Louisdale, Nova Scotia merged.
